What a fantastic venue for the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, Jonnie Turpie’s, Garden Party.  The library is an amazing building with a wonderful roof terrace where guests could look out over the whole of Birmingham – a city that has got more and more of a buzz.   Lots of speeches but – aagh – we couldn’t hear them as the PA system just didn’t have enough oomph. Despite the PA problems the High Sheriff’s daughter compered the evening with sparkle and professionalism.  The High Sheriff’s young people’s Arts and Creative Programme was the theme of the evening and an amazingly impressive group of young men and women  received Inspiring Young People Awards.   There were also some stimulating contemporary art installations on display.
