Veronica and I attended the Ludlow Food Festival and I gave out prizes for the “Best New Product”. We were extremely impressed by the wide variety of different stalls offering excelllent food and drink, most of it produced in Shropshire or surrounding counties. We took advantage of the visit to do the week’s shopping!

In the afternoon, the Mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Tim Gill and his wife Mary kindly showed us round various buildings in the town that we had never visited. We were especially impressed by the Guildhall, originally The Palmers’ Guildhall and until 2011 used as the Magistrates Court, and now operating as the town hall. We also visited the Museum, which contains much interesting information on the histroy of Ludlow, and a curious pub in Corve Street called The Dog Hangs Well. It was an extremely enjoyable afternoon.
