Veronica and I attended an impressive evening Festival of Remembrance at Theatre Severn organised by the Royal British Legion. We were very well entertained during the first half of the evening by the Shrewsbury Brass Band and Jigsaw Sound Choir, who both put on fine performances, and by two readings by officers from RAF Shawbury. After the interval there was an excellent performace by Sadie-Beth Holder of “Walk the Extra Mile”, a song of remembrance written and composed locally in Shropshire. This was followed by the Service of Remembrance ending with Hugh Trevor-Jones DL, County President of the Royal British Legion, reading the Kohima Epitaph.
