Veronica and I attended the formal opening by Ludlow MP Philip Dunne, Minister of State for Health, of the Marches Centre of Manufacturing and Technology (MCMT –  https://mcmt.co.uk/) in Bridgnorth today . MCMT is a venture owned and established by various engineering firms in Shropshire and which is designed to allow their apprentices to gain both practical experience and academic training leading to various qualifications including degrees. Their plant was extremely impressive with state of the art engineering equipment to train apprentices, and this excellent project should help provide well-paid employment for young people in Shropshire while satifying the needs of local engineering firms for high quality and well-trained employees.
