After the visit to the Magistrates’ Court in Telford, David North and I attended a Citizenship Ceremony, at which those who have applied for and been granted British nationality are welcomed into the “British family”, in the Shirehall in Shrewsbury. The ceremony was very ably conducted by Council staff, who welcome about 10 new British citizens to Shropshire in the presence of Mr Peter Holt DL, who said a few well-chosen words on the importance of the step that they had just taken.
