Tuesday, 27th January Visit of The Princess Royal, Harper Adams University, Edgmund.

photoharper adamsThe Princess Royal made a visit to Harper Adams University, Edgmond, in order to open the new Veterinary Services Centre and the Jean Jackson Entomology Laboratories .

The Veterinary Centre which includes a Companion Animal House and a cutting-edge hydrotherapy suite, will be used in the teaching of veterinary nursing and physiotherapy students. It is also planned for the facilities to be used in partnership with local veterinary practices to treat referral cases.

The Jean Jackson Entomology Building has been developed with the generous support of the Jean Jackson Charitable Trust.The new entomology centre will support both teaching and research. (One of the ‘Jean Jackson Trust’ aims is to Conserve, Improve, and Preserve for public benefit Wildlife and Fare and Flora, and also to educate the public in these principles.)

HRH Princess Anne, who was installed as Harper Adam’s first Chancellor back on 22nd November 2013, was met by The Lord Lieutenant Sir Algernon Heber-Percy before being presented to The High Sheriff and his wife, the Major and Mayoress of Stafford, as well as other dignitaries in the county, and then taken to meet all staff, teaching staff and students on the courses before going onto to the official opening declaration ceremony of the Jean Jackson Entomology Building.
