The High Sheriff was kindly invited to attend the preview of the Art Exhibition in the Market Hall, Ellesmere.

The Preview heralded the launch of the 2014 Ellesmere Festival, an annual festival put on by the Mayor of Ellesmere which straddles the weekend and provides a huge variety of entertainment all over the town involving many of the towns people. It provides a good tourist attraction with many activities in which to participate and enjoy, as well as view.

The Town Mayor, Councillor Alan Clarke and the Town Mayoress, Mrs Ruth Clarke hosted the Preview Exhibition, with fellow Mayors and the High Sheriff as guests, and to which everybody interested was welcome. An introduction was given by The Mayor, after which the High Sheriff gave a few words. The launch was then followed by a Cheese and Wine evening, during which time people could view the art on display. All the extremely professional paintings were painted by local artists, and happily, for any would be hopeful buyers the paintings were mostly all for sale.
