At the invitation of the Shropshire Rural Communities Charity, Veronica and I attended their AGM in the University Centre, Shrewsbury. The AGM was chaired by Hugh Strickland, and their chief executive, Julia Baron, gave a speech summarising the charity’s perfomance during the year. I then presented a number of cheques to organisations receiving grants from the SRCC, namely the Autism Hub, Clun Valley Good Neighbours, and the vilage halls in Ellerdine and Tibberton. The guest speaker was Baron Rooker of Perry Barr, previously MP for Bimingham Perry Barr, who spoke about his work on the charity committee set up by the House of Lords.
