I attended the Assembly at Moreton First (the junior school for Moreton Hall near Oswestry) in High Sheriff’s uniform to talk about the history and current role of the High Sheriff. After my potted history of the role, I was questioned principally on the finer points of my uniform and the use of the sword. It was a real pleasure to see their enthusiastic reception for my antique court dress!
