At the invitation of the Chief Fire Officer Rod Hammerton, Veronica and I attended their Fesitival of Carols at Barnabas Community Church, Longden Coleham in Shrewsbury. The church choir gave a strong lead to the the singing of the carols, with further excellent music from the Bicton School choir and Josiah Karp. We greatly enjoyed the service which reflects the close bonds that tie the firefighting community together. Father Christmas then arrived, ably assisted by firefighting elves, and distributed presents to the children.
