At the invitation of Jamie Edwards, CEO of Shrewsbury Town in the Community (the charitable arm of Shrewsbury Town Football Club), I visited the Community Hub next to the football ground to see the work being undertaken by the charity. I was shown round by Jamie Edwards and Jade Hibbert, Education and Inclusion Manager, who explained that the charity aims to teach sports diplomas and offer training to a variety of children and adults, as well as helping to promote sport for the elderly.  I was particularly impressed with the assistance that they give to unemployed youngsters to improve their basic numeracy and literacy, thereby increasing their employment prospects, and with the sporting and social activities organised for the elderly. This is an excellent charity which deserves our support.
